Touting the party-line vote as a major victory for the Second Amendment, the Texas House of Representatives successfully blocked a bill last week that would have prevented gun stores from operating inside of hospital psychiatric wards. “The government has no place infringing on the rights of honest business owners trying to sell semiautomatic handguns and rifles to people experiencing symptoms of acute mental illness, nor should it prevent the mentally unstable from acquiring those weapons,” said Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows, gesturing to his pocket Constitution to explain that the United States was founded on the principle that violent, psychotic, and paranoid citizens should never be denied their basic right to bear arms. Kinda sad for the state of Texas that I thought this was a genuine article. Got me on this one Onion.
This one got me. I was already running it through my head why in the world they would want that before I saw what it was on.
I definitely ate this onion because it sounds like only one of the more mildly troubling laws that would come from any recent state legislative session.
I'm mildly concerned it took me a good 5 seconds to notice it was the onion.
All I will say is thank you. I'm not admitting anything else though, nor can I deny or confirm that I have onion breath.
